Wet Wet Wet About Love Is All Around "Love Is All Around" is a song recorded by English rock band the Troggs, featuring a string quartet and a 'tick tock' sound on percussion, in D-major. It was written by lead singer Reg Presley and was purportedly inspired by a television transmission of the Joy Strings Salvation Army band's "Love That's All Around". The song was first released as a single in the UK in October 1967, peaking at number 5. On the Hot 100, the record entered at number 98 on 24 February 1968, peaked at number 7 on 18 May 1968, was on the chart a total of 16 weeks, and ranked number 40 for all of 1968. "Love Is All Around" has been covered by numerous artists, including R. E. M., with whom the Troggs subsequently recorded their 1992 comeback album Athens Andover. R. E. M.'s cover was a B-side on their 1991 "Radio Song" single, and they also played it during their first appearance at MTV's Unplugged series that same year. Dla mnie jednak piosenka ta kojarzy się z pewną niespełnioną (wówczas) miłością. Wiecie – słuchasz do zdarcia kasety, czy płyty CD i wypruwasz sobie wirtualnie żyły cierpiąc. Bo ty kochasz, a ona nie. W sumie rok później się doczekałem, ale… stare dzieje, nie wracajmy do tego :) Ta piosenka to klasyk. Klasyk choćby dlatego, że jest z soundtracku do jednej z wielkich komedii romantycznych. Tak, lubię brytyjskie komedie romantyczne i co mi możecie zrobić? :P Po prostu je lubię. Może dla niektórych to dziwne – lubię równocześnie płytkie, popcornowe kino akcji, lubię wiele ambitnych pozycji, lubię… kurcze lubię wiele gatunków filmów. I choć wiele amerykańskich komedyjek zupełnie mi nie podchodzi, choć polskich komedii romantycznych (i nie tylko romantycznych) ostatnich lat ostatnich lat nie tknąłbym nawet kijem przez szmatę, o tyle te brytyjskie, szczególnie z Hugh Grantem po prostu uwielbiam. I wiecie co? Uwielbiałem je już wtedy gdy się pojawiały, ale nie mogłem o tym za głośno mówić – bo jak, facet? Jeszcze przed erą metroseksualności? Byłaby to śmierć towarzyska! :) Jest coś magicznego w tych filmach, w tym brytyjskim akcencie i humorze, w tych ceglastych budynkach i wszystkim innym co tworzy te – w sumie niezbyt skomplikowane – filmy. Cztery wesela i pogrzeb, Love Actually i Notting Hill tworzą dla mnie Świętą Trójcę tych filmów, którą uwielbiam bezgranicznie i nie wstydzę się tego. Mogę oglądać to co święta i często właśnie tak robię. Do tego About a Boy, czy oglądany ostatnio przeze mnie About Time – połączenie brytyjskiej komedii romantycznej i mojego ukochanego motywy podróży w czasie – czy może być coś lepszego? A wspomniana piosenka to oczywiście motyw przewodni pierwszego ze wspomnianych filmów. Rany, jak to mi pachnie latami 90! Piosenka.. pozwólcie, że tym razem nie będę specjalnie rozwodził się nad słowami. No nie jest to zbyt skomplikowany tekst. Tak, jest znów o miłości. Tak wyszło, że lata 90 były dla mnie głównie o miłości – i dlatego też nie zamieniłbym mojego rocznika urodzenia na żaden inny. Ale o tym napiszę kiedyś inną notkę. Swego czasu identyfikowałem się z każdym wersem. To po prostu to totalnie głupkowate uczucie, gdy poznajesz kogoś, gdy zakochujesz się po uszy i zaczynasz odlatywać. Kompletnie, nieodwracalnie, nielogicznie. Ech, czyż to nie jest piękne? Oh wait. Przecież ja ciągle pisze o coverze! Czyli wykonie przez zespół jednej piosenki Wet Wet Wet. A oryginał? No jest, jest. Ale jest bardzo mocno retro. Trochę zbyt retro jak dla mnie. Nie moje czasy :) No dobra. Minęło trochę lat. Nadal nie przepadam za oryginałem. Ciągle uwielbiam wykonanie Wet Wet Wet. Ale przecież nie mogę kochać. Tej wersji. Nie bójmy się – najlepszej. Tej z Love Actually. Uważajcie. Po obejrzeniu tego znowu będziecie chcieli obejrzeć Love Actually. KOCHAM. Już za chwilę CHRISTMAS IS ALL AROUND ME :) No dobra.
